Nakshatra Dasha Calculator
Nakshatra Dasha refers to dasha systems calculated from the Moon's Nakshatra (lunar mansion) at birth. The most popular Nakshatra-based system is Vimshottari Dasha. This calculator computes your birth Nakshatra and generates the complete Nakshatra-derived dasha timeline.

FreeWhat is Nakshatra Dasha?
Nakshatra Dasha is a category of dasha systems where the starting dasha lord is determined by the Moon's Nakshatra at birth. The 27 Nakshatras are the foundation of all Nakshatra-based dashas. Each Nakshatra spans 13°20' of the zodiac and is ruled by a specific planet.
The primary Nakshatra Dasha systems include:
- Vimshottari Dasha: 120-year cycle, 9 planets — the most widely used
- Yogini Dasha: 36-year cycle, 8 Yoginis — simpler and repeating
- Ashtottari Dasha: 108-year cycle, 8 planets — conditional
All three systems use the Moon's Nakshatra as the starting point but differ in cycle length, planet count, and year allocations. This calculator supports all three systems — select your preferred one in Advanced Settings.
